Join gal-dem x Tipping Point to discuss the impacts of environmental racism with speakers from grassgroots groups across the UK
What is environmental racism and how does it show up in our communities? Why do we urgently need to resist it to ensure a just fight against the climate crisis? How are anti-racism movements and environmentalism linked? And most importantly, how can organise in our communities around both issues at the same time?
Join our online event hosted with @TippingPointUK and speakers from grassroots groups from all over the UK, taking action in Newcastle, Liverpool, Scotland, Birmingham and London. These include Stop Cambo and Merseyside BLM Alliance, West End Anti Raids, Save Latin Village to learn about environmental racism, ongoing community action and how you can join the resistance against it.
This event will start with an introduction to environmental racism by Selina Nwulu, a panel discussion with the speakers, followed by an interactive discussion in breakout rooms with speakers and participants.
The event will be held over Zoom and there will be two BSL interpreters at the event.
