In order to contribute to macht.sprache., users must register a registration is necessary. There are two mandatory fields for this purpose:
Personal Data
- Username
- Email address
The username is public. It is used to identify other users. It can be freely chosen and does not have to correspond to a real name.
The email address is used to authenticate the account and to send transactional mails.
Further personal data is only given voluntarily. Whether that data will be public is marked at the input point.
All personal data can be edited by users themselves in their profile.

We will provide all data stored about a person upon request. The request should be sent to the above address, by email, so that we can verify that the request comes from the account holder.

We perform regular backups. Unfortunately, we cannot selectively remove personal data from these backups, which are kept for the duration of half a year. Personal data will be deleted by the end of this period at the latest.
Sharing personal data with third parties
We use Google’s Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions for Firebase, Firebase Authentication and Firebase Hosting
Germany is the selected data location for Firestore and Cloud Functions.
We do not use any Google analytics or advertising tools. We use no services that suggest end-user opt-in.

Submitted content: Comments, terms, translations, examples
Submitted comments, terms, translations and examples are immediately publicly viewable. The collectively generated knowledge will flow into the translation tool that will be developed by the project team towards the end of 2021, without naming individual users. The tool will always be clear that the content has been created with the help of public participation. The content will be under a public domain license.
Newsletter
Users can subscribe to the poco.lit. newsletter upon registration. The double-opt-in is then combined with the registration of the account.
Users can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Each newsletter contains a link to unsubscribe.
In addition, the provisions for poco.lit.’s newsletter apply.
Cookies
We use no non-functional cookies. Functional cookies can be used, for example, to:

We collect usage statistics with Matomo. These usage statistics are not traceable to users. No IP is stored. No cookies are used.
