4 independent bookshops in Dublin
We are back after our end of year break. One of us spend some time in Ireland so we thought this is the perfect opportunity to let you know our favorite independent bookshops in Dublin.
1. Books Upstairs
Dublins oldest independent bookshop was opened in May 1978 located above a hairdresser and has moved a few times since then. It is now located in 17 D’Olier Street. And if you want to hang around longer you can go to the Cafè upstairs.

2. Chapters Bookstore
On Parnell Street you find Ireland’s largest independent bookshop where you cannot only find new books but also a large selection of second hand books.

3. The Gutter Book Shop
Located in Temple Bar on Cows Lane surrounded by design shops you find the Gutter Book Shop, named by a famous quote of Dublib-born Oscar Wilde. If you feel like going to the coast. The Gutter Book Shop have a second store in Dalkey in the outskirt of Dublin.

4. Winding Stair Book Shop
Right in the heart of Dublin you find one of the oldest independent bookshops in Dublin – The Winding Stair Book Shop. Next to magazines, zines and a focus on Irish authors, they have a beautiful selection of kids books. If you feel hungry after your book shopping make sure to go to the restaurant upstairs – not the cheapest but definitely one of the best meals you will eat in Dublin.
