macht.sprache. Launch Event: Text Checker and Translation Manifesto
macht.sprache. aims to support those who translate between English and German to integrate political sensitivity into their work. For this purpose, the project team has developed a text checker and written a translation manifesto. We will present both on Zoom on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 7 p.m. (CET). Chidera Nitsche, the bookstagrammer @eine.schwarze.liest.buecher, will guide us through the evening. Anna von Rath and Lucy Gasser will present the manifesto and explain why macht.sprache. matters. Timur Celikel and Kolja Lange will explain the technical side of the project and what the challenges were in developing it. We will also reserve some time for your questions.
The event is free and will be held in German spoken language. Thanks to the kind support of the Goethe-Institut London, we will offer interpretation into English. Make yourselves comfortable at home and tune in on time!
