Black Feminism

Reading | German-language event

On 13 June at 7 pm Natasha A. Kelly will present the book “Black Feminism” at the SUSI intercultural women’s centre.

This groundbreaking publication, edited by Natasha A. Kelly, documents the continuity of a feminist intellectual tradition through selected texts by Sojourner Truth, Angela Davis, The Combahee River Collective, bell hooks, Audre Lorde, Barbara Smith, Kimberlé Crenshaw and Patricia Hill Collins. These texts appear in German for the first time and trace the history of intersectionality.

About the editor and author:
Natasha A. Kelly has always been a Black feminist; theory was later added through her research work at the Gender Institute of the Humboldt University in Berlin. Today she is active in various political contexts, most recently as the filmmaker of the award-winning documentary film “Millis Erwachen”.
